A recent letter from a very happy groom
Having returned from honeymoon I now have the chance to finally put finger to keyboard
and thank you and your team for the outstanding service provided at our wedding
on the 9th September.
The whole day went extremely well thanks to the efforts of
a number of people, but the stand-out was Kendale Catering. The quality of the food
was terrific, the quantity of it just right for the numbers, and the effort you
put in and the flexibility with which you managed to adapt timings was outstanding.
The important thing about feedback – positive or negative – is that it should be
timely and specific. I couldn’t do the ‘timely’ because I was away on honeymoon.
However, let me be specific about a couple of details: In the weeks leading up to
the wedding your advice and requests for information were not intrusive but clearly
well organised. It gave us great confidence that you knew what you were doing and
that the food – a major component in a wedding celebration – would be completely
taken care of.
In setting up the venue, I understand there was an unexpected complication
with the table linen. Not only did you deal with it immediately, it was done so
seamlessly. I was only dimly aware that there was a problem and the whole thing
was sorted out in good time with no fuss. I was really impressed with this.
On the
day itself, the staff were excellent. Friendly, never harried or stressed (I wish
I could have said the same of myself !) and professional. A credit to your company.
I thought you yourself stood out in a way I had not expected of a partner in the
company. I’d expect to see you bark orders or simply promote one of the more experienced
serving staff to manage the day so I want to make it clear how impressed I was by
your commitment to making sure the day ran smoothly, which showed in two ways. Firstly,
while the photographers flagrantly ignored my warnings about the day’s timings and
that we didn’t want to overdo the pictures (they took over 2000 photos !), your
manner was calm and reassuring, and helped to prevent me from throttling them with
their camera straps. Secondly, when you showed up to deliver the bacon sandwiches
I was amazed it was you still working at 8:30. Keep up that kind of commitment because
it was impressive. As an additional point, I did note that you and your team somehow
managed to shrink serving times during the meal, to help us regain some of the lost
photo-time. It was noted, and I was very grateful for that effort. Please pass on
my thanks to the Kendale team.
And finally, not a single guest has given me a “but”
when it came to the catering or the food. You know how sometimes people say “I had
a great time, but . . . “. The feedback I had was all positive about the quantity
and the quality of what was served. So thank you to Kendale Catering for your part
in what was a brilliant day...
